LOUISVILLE, KY. – Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen, whose 22 meet titles are most in Churchill history, is looking to overtake Dale Romans for most overall wins under the twin spires. Mott, a Hall of Fame member since 1998, is working on his own notable milestone: His two wins here last weekend with Say Moi ($3.40) and Common Courtesy ($4.20) have him just eight shy of 5,000 overall wins. ◗ Midnight Bisou, the No. 1-ranked horse in the weekly National Thoroughbred Racing Association poll, is now stabled at Churchill after four breezes at Keeneland, the latest a five-furlong move Friday in 1:02.80. Trained by Asmussen, Midnight Bisou was second in the $20 million Saudi Cup on Feb. 29 in her last start. ◗ Perry Ouzts, the leading active jockey in wins (7,066), had two unplaced mounts Saturday in his first rides since he was injured last July. Ouzts, 65, will be active as usual at the upcoming Belterra Park meet. ◗ Spiced Perfection, a two-time Grade 1 winner, is preparing for the May 31 Winning Colors at Churchill after being purchased privately by Haruya Yoshida and turned over to trainer Mark Casse. ◗ Swiss Skydiver, winner of the Gulfstream Oaks and Fantasy in her last two starts, will run next in the June 6 Santa Anita Oaks, trainer Kenny McPeek said.
